THE WEEKEND REPLAY
Welcome back to another Weekend Replay here at Doors At Seven. I have a great playlist of tunes for your enjoyment this week, so get your headphones ready and let’s get started!
Alternative rock artist Cassadee Pope released a new track titled “Bad Decisions.” The upbeat rock track sees the artist touching on moments throughout life that go from up to down and everything in between. She plans on releasing a deluxe version of her recently-released album Hereditary. Ska-rock group Less Than Jake’s new single “Not My Problem” is a rock cut infused with jazz elements and a mix of instruments. A highlight from it is the trumpet solo that comes after the chorus.
Alternative group Saint Blonde released their new song “Trendsetter.” The track’s production is reminiscent of indie rock from the early 2000s like The Strokes, with earnest lyrics and precise vocals. It marks the group’s first release since a string of singles from last year. Michael Ward with Dogs and Fishes dropped a new record called Brighter Days. The album is a fusion of jazz, soul, country, folk and even more. “Every Kinda People,” in particular, is a jazzy, soul track with powerful vocals and a variety of instruments that drive the track forward.
Pop star Sabrina Carpenter dropped her new record Short ‘n Sweet featuring the new single “Taste.” Supported with a video featuring actress Jenna Ortega, the track features guitar plucking, the artist’s usual tongue-in-cheek lyrics and a stellar delivery.
