THE WEEKEND REPLAY
Welcome back to another Weekend Replay here at Doors At Seven! I have a great lineup of tunes for you this week. Get your headphones ready and let’s get started.
Rock artist Penny Bored released their new track “dance in hell.” The song is reminiscent of the early 2000s punk-rock scene, with whirring guitars and extremely catchy melodies. Halsey released a new single from her upcoming album. “Lonely is the Muse” leans into the grungy rock sound the artist created on her last album in 2021. She touches on themes of stardom and self-isolation over a hazy guitar track. Her vocals are strong as ever, and her songwriting is sharper than ever.
Indie singer-songwriter Izzy Mahoubi dropped her new song “70’s Baby.” The breezy pop cut features light acoustic guitar and summery electric guitar riffs throughout. The Phoenix-based artist’s new track follows her debut EP from last year. Maude Latour unveiled her debut album Sugar Water, featuring the new single “Officially Mine.” Latour crafted an album full of big pop sounds, and this song isn’t any different. With a massive chorus and synthy verses, her pop stardom is only beginning.
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
“Die With A Smile” by Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars
“Back 2 U” by Yours Truly
“Paranoid” by Certain Death
“Nobody’s Soldier” by Hozier
“Ragdoll” by Dora Jar
“Purple Teeth, The Bravery” by Del Water Gap
That’s all for this week’s new music! Thanks for tuning in, and come back next week for another roundup of the best new tunes.
