PREMIERE: Porch Coffin’s “Oblivion”

Porch Coffin’s new single “Oblivion” is a song you’ll definitely want to add to all of your playlists. This is their second single of the year with their release of “Rosen Hotel” in June. This three-piece, punk group is based out of Orlando, Florida and have been recently playing shows along the southeastern coast. Porch Coffin currently has their self titled debut on all streaming platforms and has mentions of working on a new EP to be released in the near future.

Upon first listen of “Oblivion” you are met with a fast paced drum beat, energetic guitar riffs, and punk vocals full of angst. However, as you dive deeper into the track you hear the vocalist share a feeling of bitterness towards someone with lines such as, “you don't miss a beat, twisting when it's in deep”. This line, as well as others, make this an easy song for people to find themselves in.

I thought this track was beautifully put together. All three musicians compliment each other really nicely and no one overshadows another. The layered vocals are done super smoothly and intentionally adding depth into the song. On top of it all, it's incredibly catchy and a great song to sing (or scream) along to.

Porch Coffin is undoubtedly on their way up in the music scene as a band to watch out for. With their talented instrumentals and rich vocals, it's no question about how they are making a name for themselves. I will absolutely be on the lookout for new releases and think everyone should do the same. You definitely don't want to miss out.
