THROW BACK THURSDAY

Welcome to Throwback Thursday!

Here, I have compiled a playlist of throwbacks that go way back. Starting in the seventies and going into the 2000’s, we have a wide variety of songs that have all come out this week in the past!

Starting out with some iconic events from the week of October 9, in 1979, Fleetwood Mac received their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the City of Los Angeles declared “Fleetwood Mac Day,” and in 1975, Yoko Ono gave birth to Sean Lennon, on John Lennon’s birthday, October 9!

This week, we have some staple albums and songs that have come out in this week’s past.

We start out with Video Games by Lana Del Ray, her debut single. This song was released in 2011, and since then, Lana has become one of the most iconic artists of our generation.

Diving a little bit deeper, we hit the seventies with some tracks from Van Morrison, a personal favorite, and Deep Purple. I’ve chosen my top two songs from Come Taste The Band but it was definitely a hard toss up.

U2 is one of the most celebrated bands of all time, and Rattle and Hum is such a great album. I love this album specifically because there are live and studio versions included.

We also have some songs from Prince, one of the greatest artists of all time. Prince’s legacy is unlike any other, and will be regarded in that sense infinitely.

Join us next week for a brand new playlist with blasts from the past from your favorite artists and bands!
