The record starts off easy going with a minute long intro “Life is Short” immediately leading into the rock groove "“Stunt It!”, really picking up the album from 0 to 60 in a split second. The song keeps a consistent pace until picking back up in the ladder half. “See You Next Summer” reminds me of The Front Bottoms if they were much more rock focused, between the vocals, lyrics, and song structure this definitely falls under what I call “school rock”. The kind of rock that gives that nostalgic sadness that for some reason you can’t get enough of. A look back at high school with rose colored glasses and wishing even if only for a day to return to.

“Smoke” keeps the same vibe and energy of the last track while pushing forward their sound. this is of course followed up by the single “Stress Fractures”, a fantastic track to lead into this album with, definitely a great introduction to the sound and skill that Stress Fractures has too offer. The next highlight of the album would be “Cactus Street”, very similar to “Life is Short”, but this time it’s a two-minute instrumental really focusing on the foundation of this release.

The record ends with “The Basement at The Alamo” and “Rocket Ship to Heaven”. The first is much more of your typical emo/indie/rock sound with some great guitar licks and energetic drums. The album is really sent home with “Rocket Ship to Heaven”, The must dynamic track on the record, going from a much slower chorus to quick and energetic verses, then even breaking down with a guitar lead ‘pop’ section dead center of the song. Quickly leading to a drum crazy section to eventually slowing way down to a hault to end the record.

This is a great record to start this year off with a bang, and I am excited to see what else Stress Fractures has to offer in the future as well!
