Short Fictions releases newest single “Wasting”

Wasting releases right before the band joins THEIR / THEY’RE / THERE as a support act on tour.

Short Fictions, a band based out of Pittsburgh, PA, just released their newest single, which I immediately fell in love with. Consisting of Sam Treber (guitar & vocals), Chloe June (guitar), Alex Barkley (bass), Ryan Veith (drums), and Nick Bursick (trombone), the five piece band continues to excel at their craft.

Wasting is about the world ending but done in a way that’s upbeat and catchy – as we might as well have fun if everything is ending! The hook “I don’t really mind that I’m wasting all my time on you” is even romantic in a way, spending these last moments together amidst the end of the world. There’s a moment of instrumentals, where there’s also a fantastic guitar solo before the final line of the song – the whole thing is executed perfectly.

Short Fictions just released a track to listen to all summer, releasing on all streaming platforms on June 20th, it’s certainly one you don’t want to miss! As they join THEIR / THEY’RE / THERE on tour as direct support, Wasting is a perfect track for these summer dates. They begin on June 29th in Boston, MA and play three additional shows on the East Coast so go check them out if you can – I certainly will be!
