New single by Saturdays At Your Place

Michigan-based Saturdays at Your Place have just released “it’s always cloudy in kalamazoo”, named after their hometown, as a single off their upcoming EP Eat Me Alive.

The Midwest emo outfit kicks off the single with punchy drums and sparkling guitars. Vocals contribute incredible angst to the single, which does not pull away from the band’s sound that fans of saturdays at your place have found comfort in over the past two years since their first release in 2021. As a true blend of pop-punk and emo, this heartbreak song is really dynamic in what it is able to accomplish. The raw lyricism and clear narrative of the track are real standouts, and the pacing and balance of the instrumentals uplift the message. There is no misconstruing the emotion behind the track and the ties the band has to their home in Kalamazoo. Home is a definite theme on this track, with the lyrics “I don’t wanna go home yet” repeated continuously following the instrumental break that comes after the first minute of the song.

Fans of fellow Michigan natives, Hot Mulligan, as well as fans of Ben Quad, Arm’s Length, and Carly Cosgrove will definitely appreciate what saturdays at your place are adding to the midwest emo scene. Stay tuned for more from saturdays at your place with the release of their EP in February.
