Innerlove releases New Single “The Wringer”

New York-based emo group Innerlove

just released their new single “The Wringer,” a somber acoustic track about facing failure in life.

“The Wringer” opens with some melancholy acoustic guitar picking, a minimalist bassline, and heartfelt crooning by vocalist Ryan O’Rourke. The themes of the song are apparent from the very first verse, with O’Rourke singing that he’s “been going through the wringer,” and asking “when on earth this all will stop?” After the first verse concludes, a four-on-the-floor drumbeat drives the song forward into a full-band section that lasts the remainder of the song. Innerlove. captures the essence of what it feels like to experience failure after failure with the chorus lyrics “I think I’ve found my calling… It’s forever falling down.” “The Wringer” ends with an energetic chorus that absolutely hammers its point home, with the final word of the song echoing in the distance.

Innerlove. is definitely a band to watch in the coming months. They’ll be touring the East Coast and the Midwest in November, and their tour dates can be found below!
