THE WEEKEND REPLAY
Welcome back to another edition of The Weekend Replay, here at Doors At Seven! I have a killer lineup of new tunes ready for your listening enjoyment this week. Get your headphones ready, and let’s begin.
Kicking off alternative music this week is beabadoobee with her new track “Ever Seen.” Coming from her upcoming record This Is How Tomorrow Moves, the singer-songwriter focuses on a guitar-based sound. With production courtesy of legendary producer Rick Rubin, the song explodes into flurries of guitars and horns, making for her most intriguing single yet from the upcoming album. Zach Bryan released his new album The Great American Bar Scene, featuring highlight track “28.” The guitar part flows beautifully with a string section behind Bryan’s emotive voice, as he touches on time passing throughout his life.
Pop music is led by Lana Del Rey and Quavo’s new collaboration “Tough.” After being teased on social media and played at Del Rey’s Fenway Park show, the song was finally released for the public to enjoy. The country-inspired track sees Del Rey man the choruses while Quavo takes the verses- and the duo works together flawlessly. Kesha dropped her first single as an independent artist. The campy pop track titled “Joyride” combines a mix of sounds like country and club pop to make for a, as the title suggests, joyride of a song.
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
“4x4xU” by Lainey Wilson
“Lift You Up” by Jessie Ware & Romy
“Ready For Your Love” by Felix Jaehn & Sophie Ellis-Bextor
That’s all the new music for this week! Come back next Monday for a brand new playlist, and thanks for tuning in.
