THE WEEKEND REPLAY

Welcome back to The Weekend Replay here at Doors At Seven! I have another stellar group of songs lined up for you this week, so get your headphones ready and let’s begin.

New Jersey-originated rock group The Early November released their new song “Tired Of Lying.” The track, off of their upcoming self-titled seventh album, stands out for its effortlessly strong vocals and production. The two swell together perfectly from calmer confessional moments to heavy vocals and drums. Oregon hardcore band Southtowne Lanes dropped their new album Take Care, featuring the new track “Never Coming Home.” The song progressively gets stronger, with the end fading into a flurry of grainy guitar riffs and heavy vocals.

Alternative-pop artist beabadoobee announced her upcoming record This Is How Tomorrow Moves with lead single “Take A Bite.” Produced by legendary producer Rick Rubin and her common collaborator Jacob Bugden, the song sees the artist take a more 2000s alternative route rather than a more modern approach. It details the experience of a blooming love amidst a hazy guitar and drum beat. Orville Peck and Noah Cyrus released their collaboration “How Far Will We Take It?” The country-esque track sees the two artists’ vocals mesh together flawlessly. With yearning lyrics and minimal production allowing the lyrics and vocals to shine, it is a killer duet.

Indie-pop artist ROLE MODEL dropped his new track “Deeply Still In Love” off of his upcoming sophomore album Kansas Anymore. The upbeat song sees the singer-songwriter touch on still being in love with an ex who’s found somebody else and dealing with the feelings that go with it (ouch). It is a welcomed sound from the artist, with a much deeper yet poppier feel to it compared to his previous album. “Toro” from Remi Wolf comes on a double release alongside “Alone in Miami.” The two tell complementary tales, with the former being a more straightforward contender for a song of the summer. Wolf’s vocals and delivery are strong and sure, with a lone drum beat driving it forward, alongside groovy guitars and synths.
