THE WEEKEND REPLAY

Welcome back to another Weekend Replay here at Doors At Seven! I have a stellar lineup of new tunes this week for your listening enjoyment. Get your headphones ready and let’s get started.

Kicking off rock music this week is rock group Fit For An Autopsy with their new track “Hostage.” The single leads their upcoming album titled The Nothing That Is, which will be released on Oct. 25. With whirring electric guitar and drums alongside vocalist Joe Badolato’s heavy vocals, the song shines for its shape shifting between heavier and softer sections throughout.

Peter McPoland leads our alternative section with his new track “Dig Your Man.” Continuing his electronic pop-rock sound of previous singles, McPoland is breaking free of his tame indie sound for a bigger, arena-ready one. “Big Bite” from Michael Ward with Dogs and Fishes comes off of their upcoming record Brighter Days, out Aug. 23. The track touches on the modern political landscape over a variety of instruments, with jazz and soul influence throughout.

Halsey returns to the pop music scene with her new Britney Spears-sampling track “Lucky.” The Y2K-inspired pop single showcases the singer-songwriter’s storytelling abilities, with honest accounts of her health struggles from the past few years. Between the confessional songwriting style and groovy pop beat, what’s not to like? Singer-songwriter Alix Page returned with her new track “Girlfriend.” Over a sweet, summery acoustic guitar track and drum beat, Page writes about being whatever a lover wants. The song comes from her upcoming project that, as of right now, does not have a release date.
