Charm “Makeup Stain” Single Premiere
More than a year after their last drop, North Carolina’s own slacker rock band, Charm, has released their newest single: “Makeup Stain.” Inspired by 90’s indie rock groups like Dinosaur Jr. and Pavement, Charm’s sound is defined by their laid-back vibe and spacey production.
The lyrics on “Makeup Stain” are romantic and wistful, but they don’t come across as sad by any means. As the lyrics paint the scene, there’s also a nice escalation to both the vocals and instrumentals that drives the track forward at a steady pace.
Like many of Charm’s other releases, “Makeup Stain” is like a warm summer breeze. As you listen, the relaxation spreads out through your chest and limbs. It’s both excited and subdued, but, most of all, uplifting. Listen to this one while going on a walk with the sun on your face and I promise you’ll feel your troubles melt away.
“Makeup Stain” is the first of three singles that Charm plans on dropping before their long-awaited debut LP. Their album has been subject to at least one delay but will finally be available on April 21 via Acrobat Unstable Records. If this single is anything to go by, it’ll be worth the wait.
